NOMINATION INFORMATION - Two citizen meetings will be held for the purpose of accepting nominations of candidates for Mayor and Two Town Council positions, currently filled by Patrick Rockinberg (Mayor), Larry Hushour and Patricia Washabaugh for the upcoming May 3, 2021 Mount Airy Election, and nominations will remain open between the two meetings:


March 8, 2021 - First Nomination Meeting at 7:00 p.m., at the Mount Airy Volunteer Fire Department Reception Hall, 1008 Twin Arch Road, Mount Airy. 

March 15, 2021 - Second Nomination Meeting at 7:00 p.m., at the Mount Airy Volunteer Fire Department Reception Hall, 1008 Twin Arch Road, Mount Airy -- when all nominations will be read and given to the Town Clerk to put on the ballot.   


Nominations will be accepted at both Nomination Meetings and by contacting Holly McCleary at Town Hall, 301-829-1424 or via email at during the week between the two Nomination Meetings.  Eligible individuals seeking elective office may submit a nomination.  Eligible citizens may nominate an individual with the written consent of the nominee.




Election Day - The Mount Airy Election will be held on Monday, May 3, 2021 at the Mount Airy Volunteer Fire Department Reception Hall located at 1008 Twin Arch Road, Mount Airy.  Polls will be open from 7:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.


Absentees – To request an absentee ballot, a “Request for Absentee Ballot” form must be completed and returned to Town Hall at 110 S. Main Street, in the night dropbox, or via email to Colleen Reilly at  Download the Request for Absentee Ballot or email request at the email address provided. Please note that absentee ballots will be mailed via regular USPS mail, so please allow enough time to receive the absentee ballot and return. Voters uncomfortable voting in person due to the Covid-19 pandemic may file an Absentee Ballot.  Voters requesting to vote by Absentee Ballot are strongly encouraged to use the night dropbox at Town Hall for returning completed ballots.  Ballots received in the night box by 5:00 PM on the day of the election will be counted. Absentee ballots will be available as of April 12, 2021.  


Registration deadline and information: The last day to register to vote in the 2021 Mount Airy Election will be on APRIL 5, 2021 AT 5:00 P.M.  If you currently live in the Mount Airy Town limits and are registered with Frederick or Carroll County Election Board, you are automatically registered to vote in the Town Election.
