There will be no parking in the parking lot by the all inclusive playground at Watkins Park on Wednesday afternoon, Sept. 3 (except for the two handicap spaces -- those spaces will be open all day). This means both sides of the first parking lot.
Multiple signs have been posted on cones in the specific lot.
This lot is being closed as we are turning it in to a food court for the Mount Airy Farmers Market on Wednesday from 3 to 7 p.m. These vendors will be offering food to be consumed at the market. This week's food court will feature Atlixcos Grill, Wood Fired Pizza, Fresh Squeezed Please, Vida Salsas, Mt. Airy Mocha, SBS Mediterranean, Chef Dad Pot Pies and Cowboy Al's gourmet burgers.
Please be sure to come check out these vendors as well as the more than 40 we will have onsite.
These food vendors need time to set up and dismantle so we estimate the one lot will be closed from noon to 8 p.m.
Guests may park at the multiple other lots in Watkins Park as well as at Parr's Ridge Elementary and St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church. If you would like to get your steps in, you may park at the Railyard and walk Rails to Trails East to Watkins Park.
