Recreational Activities
The Town maintains recreational areas which allow many of the following activities and more:
- Fishing
- Hiking
- Picnicking
- Relaxing
- Sports
With acres of varying natural surroundings, the Mount Airy parks have been carefully planned and developed for your outdoor pleasures.

Members
The Board of Recreation and Parks consists of a minimum of five members but not more than nine members; all must be town residents. Current members include:

Responsibilities
The Board of Recreation and Parks schedules the use of athletic facilities and plans the development and construction of new facilities .
Volunteer
Want to help make a difference in and grow your community? The Parks and Recreation Department is looking for volunteers in our parks, events, visitor center and more. Please contact the Recreation and Parks Manager, for more info.
Scout Projects
There are plenty of opportunities for both Boy and Girl Scouts to get involved with the Town parks and complete their Eagle, Silver, Gold, or other community service project. For possibilities and inquiries, email the Recreation and Parks Manager.
Reservations
Picnic pavilions and gazebos can be reserved online by going to Parks and Facilities reservations should be made early in the year.
