TOWN OF MOUNT AIRY
FISCAL YEAR 2017-2018 BUDGET PUBLIC HEARING & SPECIAL COUNCIL MTG.

The Town of Mount Airy, Maryland will hold a Public Hearing on May 10, 2017 at 8:30 p.m. at the Mount Airy Town Hall, 110 South Main Street, Mount Airy to hear public comments on the FY 2017-2018 proposed Town Budget. The Town is proposing to lower the current tax rate on all real property located within the limits of the Town of Mount Airy from $0.1695 to $0.1662 (constant yield tax rate) per $100 of assessed property value. The tax rate applicable to personal property located within the limits of the Town is set at 2.5 times the rate for real property, which is proposed to be $0.41 per $100 of assessed property value.
The Council plans to set the tax rate and adopt a FY 2017-2018 budget for the Town during a Special Council meeting immediately following the public hearing on May 10, 2017, AND TO DISCUSS ONE ADDITIONAL NEW BUSINESS ITEM:
- Recommendation of Award – Construction of the Mount Airy Police Dept.
