Reminders from the Code Enforcement Specialist

Grass and Weeds

Spring is here and the lawnmowers are in full swing. It is the perfect time to remind property owners of the Town’s requirements regarding property maintenance.

Town Code Section 85 requires that. All yards, lawns and vacant lots shall be similarly kept clean and free from weeds, grass, or plants (other than trees, bushes, flowers, or other ornamental plants) exceeding 12 inches in height.

It shall be the duty of each occupant or owner of a dwelling unit or commercial or industrial structure to keep in a clean condition that portion of the property which he occupies or over which he has exclusive control.

If you observe a property that is becoming overgrown with weeds and grass, do not hesitate to notify the Code Enforcement Specialist. We will work with the property owner to ensure the grass and weeds are cut.

Let’s all work together to keep our yards free from overgrown grass and weeds.

Voluntary compliance is our goal, and your cooperation is essential.
