Flu Vaccination Clinics Scheduled Across Carroll County

Westminster, MD (September 17, 2025) - The Carroll County Health Department and their community partners (list) are sharing information about flu vaccination clinics and other resources for flu vaccinations across the county.

Getting a flu vaccine every year is the best protection against illness, missed work and school, and serious health problems related to the flu. The CDC recommends flu vaccination for everyone 6 months and up, except for people who have severe allergies to the flu vaccine or its ingredients. People with an egg allergy can get the flu vaccine. Vaccination is especially important for people at higher risk of getting very sick from the flu, including very young children, people who are over 65, pregnant women, or those who have chronic health conditions like asthma or diabetes.

FluMist nasal spray vaccine may be an option for people aged 2 - 49.  However, FluMist cannot be given to people with certain health conditions. It is available at some pharmacies or online to use at home.

Many options are available for flu vaccinations. Health care providers may offer them in their office. Pharmacists can vaccinate people aged 3 and older. A list of pharmacies is available on the Health Department’s website. Adults without insurance can contact Access Carroll at 410-871-1478 for assistance with covering the vaccination cost.

The Health Department is hosting flu vaccination clinics for children 6 months through 18 years across the county. Appointments are required. Visit health.maryland.gov/carroll to make an appointment. If you have questions or need help making an appointment, call 410-876-4442; to speak with someone in Spanish, call 410-876-4990.

The Health Department does collect insurance information to cover the vaccine administration fee. There may be a small fee on a sliding scale if a child does not have insurance or Medical Assistance, but no one will be turned away if they cannot pay.
