[ARCHIVED] Town Council Candidate John Stuehmeier Withdraws from Election

IMPORTANT – MAY 6, 2019 ELECTION INFORMATION

ATTENTION:   JOHN STUEHMEIER HAS WITHDRAWN AS A CANDIDATE FOR TOWN COUNCIL FOR THE MAY 6, 2019 MOUNT AIRY ELECTION.  HIS LETTER IS BELOW:

May 3, 2019

Subject: Supervisors of the Mt. Airy Elections Board 2019

To whom it may concern,

I have very recently had several changes occur in my personal life, including the purchase of a new home outside the town limits. Since living within the town limits is one condition of being a Councilmember, I am withdrawing from the election process for the May 6th 2019 election.

Thank you

John Stuehmeier

Below is a statement John Stuehmeier posted pertaining to removing his name as a candidate for the May 6, 2019 Mount Airy Election.

Over a month ago I began the process of running for the Town Council. There is a common quote, "Your life can change in the blink of an eye". In the last several days, I have had several unexpected events occur in my life and well, my life is changing in the blink of an eye. As a result, I will be moving outside the town limits in June and losing a qualification to be a Councilmember. I am grateful for all of the support I have received during this last month. In order to prevent the possibility of a special election in June, I am withdrawing from the race for the town council.
