The Town of Mount Airy Planning Commission is opening the 2023 Comprehensive Master Plan for the Town's citizens to provide comments and feedback on the proposed plan. The Mount Airy Planning Commission will hold a public hearing on Tuesday, September 12, 2024, at 6:30 p.m. at the Town Hall, 110 S. Main St.
The Comprehensive Master Plan, which consists of maps, data, and other descriptive matter, as a guide for the physical development of the Town or any portion thereof, including any zoning amendments, extensions, or additions thereto adopted by the Commission and Town Council, or other public open spaces, public building sites, routes for public utilities, zoning districts or other similar information. The plan covers Natural Resources, Land use and Zoning, Municipal Growth Element, Transportation, Community Facilities and Public Service, Community Design Guidelines, and Implementation.
After this public hearing, the Planning Commission may or may not make changes to the 2023 Comprehensive Master Plan draft. Once all, if any revisions are completed, the Planning Commission will forward the recommended plan to the Town Council. Town Council will review and revise or approve the 2023 Comprehensive Master Plan
