NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING ON THE PROPOSED DESIGNATION OF PRIORITY AREAS WITHIN THE LIMITS OF THE TOWN FOR THE PURPOSES OF ALLOCATION OF WATER AS PROPOSED BY THE PLANNING COMMISSION PURSUANT TO THE TOWN CODE CHAPTER 109 “WATER” AND SECTION 109-19.14 TITLED “WATER AND SEWER ALLOCATION”
On February 23, 2026, the Planning Commission of the Town of Mount Airy will hold a public hearing at Town Hall, 110 South Main Street, Mt. Airy, MD 21771 beginning at 7:00 p.m. regarding the proposed designation of Priority Areas for future development within the limits of the Town purposes of allocation of water pursuant to Town Code Chapter 109 entitled “Water” and Section 109-19.4 entitled “Water and Sewer Allocation”. At this time, the Priority Area defined in 2014 is proposed to remain unchanged. Discussion will take place after the conclusion of the public hearing during the regular session of the Planning Commission meeting under “New Business”. All public comments regarding this matter will be taken under advisement during the discussion, after which a decision on the priority area is anticipated. A map of the existing priority area and the proposed resolution is available for review at Town Hall during regular business hours and on the Town’s website at www.mountairymd.gov
In addition, if Town Hall is closed for any reason on this date, the Town will send out and post a ZOOM link for this Public Hearing to ensure this time-sensitive Public Hearing is held on the 23rd of February 2026.
